Overview

Multiple dining experiences. One cohesive platform.

With the rise of mobile applications, restaurants have evolved to offer seamless digital experiences. Family of Eateries connects diners with multiple restaurant options on a single platform, providing menus, operating hours, contact information, and reservation flows across three distinct dining brands.

As UI/UX and Graphic Designer, I crafted the layout, typography, and color scheme — ensuring a visually appealing and accessible design that maintains a clear individual brand voice for each restaurant while keeping the overall experience consistent and intuitive.

Problem & Solution

Accessibility, performance, and complexity — all in one interface.

Designing a restaurant app that serves three distinct brands means balancing visual cleanliness with accessibility, while handling the inherent complexity of menus, booking flows, and cross-device performance — without overwhelming the user or diluting any single brand identity.

The Problem

  • Designing an accessible yet visually clean app for multiple brands
  • Ensuring smooth performance across devices and screen sizes
  • Managing complex menu structures and reservation systems
  • Maintaining distinct brand identities within a unified interface
  • Reducing cognitive load at the brand selection entry point

The Solution

  • Applied inclusive design principles for accessible colour and typography
  • Optimized assets and code for consistent cross-device performance
  • Simplified menu and booking flows to reduce decision friction
  • Used adaptive theming to preserve each brand's visual identity
  • Structured clear navigation to support intuitive brand discovery

Process

From research and brainstorming to logo system and final UI.

  1. 01

    Research & Planning

Defined user intent models across three dining contexts — fine dining, local favourite, and fast food. Built a project timeline and mapped core user flows to identify structural constraints and opportunities.

  2. 02

    Brainstorming & Ideation

Explored brand directions through conceptual sketches and early digital mockups. Evaluated navigation frameworks and interaction patterns to reduce friction at the platform entry point.

  3. 03

    Logo Design

Designed logos for three restaurants under the Family of Eateries brand, balancing individuality with unity. Each logo reflected its niche — fine dining, local favourite, and fast food — while remaining cohesive under the parent brand umbrella.

  4. 04

    UI Design & Prototyping

Developed high-fidelity screens for all three restaurant experiences and built an interactive Figma prototype to validate core flows, test navigation clarity, and refine the overall visual system.
